Adamus S.A. — 45 Years of Precision and Excellence

A journey shaped by engineering, innovation, and continuous growth.

From six machines to nearly one hundred, from a team of ten to more than 120 specialists, from a small mechanical workshop to one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tablet compression tooling — this is the story of Adamus S.A. over the past 45 years — a story defined by progress, ambition, and the pursuit of modern engineering solutions.

Founded on 22 April 1981 in Pilchowo near Szczecin, Poland, the company began with around ten employees producing injection moulds and plastic components. Even in its early years, Adamus attracted the attention of customers in Germany, Sweden, and the United States.

In 1986, the company expanded its capabilities to include the production of tablet compression tooling for the pharmaceutical industry — a decision that would shape its future. Rapid growth soon followed, leading to the construction of a new headquarters and a larger production facility. In June 1989, Adamus relocated to Szczecin, where it continues to operate dynamically to this day.

In 2013, the company further expanded its infrastructure with a modern production hall and office building. The success of its tooling solutions accelerated additional investments in advanced machinery, automation, robotics, and production management systems.

A Commitment to Development and Education

In 1990, Adamus initiated the creation of a post-secondary technical school dedicated to training precision mechanics specialists capable of operating modern CNC equipment used in the production of high-precision pharmaceutical tooling.

For many years, the company has also collaborated with universities to advance manufacturing and measurement technologies applied in solutions delivered to its customers.

Adamus S.A. Today

In August 2017, Adamus S.A. was formally transformed into a joint stock company.

Today, Adamus S.A. is a leading global supplier of punches, dies, machines, and spare parts for tablet presses, capsule fillers, and blister machines, serving primarily the pharmaceutical industry. The company also provides solutions that support production processes, including ultrasonic washers, automatic polishing and measuring machines, and tooling storage systems.

Beyond delivering top-quality products and services, Adamus S.A. is committed to promoting knowledge, awareness, and best practices among tooling users. The company organises seminars and webinars focused on tooling maintenance and tablet compression processes. Its experts share recommended procedures that help reduce production risks as part of the Tooling Maintenance Program.

More Than Tooling

After 45 years of experience, Adamus S.A. continues its mission to deliver the highest quality tooling — backed by the expertise and dedication of its specialists. Our goal is to ensure that customers and partners receive not only exceptional tools, but something more: knowledge, support, and long-term value.

Here in Adamus S.A., our approach is rooted in Aristotle’s philosophy. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.”

MORE THAN STORAGE

Improper storage and transport of punching tools can lead to increased wear or damage to punches and dies, resulting in production downtime.

Tooling Storage System & Cabinets by Adamus S.A. provide a solution that properly protects punches and dies, reducing the risk of problems in the tablet formulation process resulting from improper storage of punches and dies.

Special plastic inserts for storing tablet‑compression tooling, equipped with transport handles, also enable safe handling and protection of working surfaces when moving the tools on transport trolleys directly to the tablet press and back.

Case Study – Inconsistent Blister Sealing & Foil Damage

Client Problem description

A pharmaceutical manufacturer reported frequent foil tearing and inconsistent sealing quality on a high-speed blister line. The issue caused unplanned downtime and increased waste.

Diagnosis

During the technical audit, our engineers discovered:
• Worn sealing plates with uneven temperature distribution
• Incorrect forming depth caused by the format parts produced by a third-party supplier
• Misalignment between forming and sealing stations

Solution

Adamus S.A. delivered:
• New precision-machined forming plates with corrected pocket geometry
• Re-engineered sealing plates, ensuring uniform heat transfer
• On-site alignment and calibration of the blister line

Outcome
• 0% foil tearing after implementation
• 35% reduction in waste
• Stable sealing quality across all batches
